Gifts were never intended to be the criteria for identity or calling. If they were, the story of the Exodus would place the eloquent Aaron in front of Pharaoh, and Moses, the friend of God, would be a footnote. However, the freedom of the millions of Israelites was initiated by God’s voice speaking to a man, who allowed himself to become enamored with a fire he found in a secret place, identified by God himself, as Holy Ground!
